Glucosamine HCL
Detailed Product Description
Glucosamine HCL is an aminopolysaccharide (a combination of an amino acid-glutamine and a
sugar-glucose) . Glucosamine is concentrated in joint cartilage where it is incorporated in
longer chains known as glycosaminoglycans and finally into very large structures known as
proteoglycans. The proteoglycans function to attract water into the joint space for lubrication
of the cartilage during movement.
Application:
a) Reverses osteoarthritis
b) Protects joints and tendons from injury
c) Decreases inflammation
Glucosamine hydrochloride is a supplement used for treating various conditions, although it
is best known for its effects on osteoarthritis. It is believed to work by decreasing inflammation,
stimulating chondrocytes, and limiting the production of certain compounds that degrade
cartilage. Research is currently being conducted on whether glucosamine hydrochloride is more
or less effective than other types.
